Mission

Caribbean Code helps Jamaican high-school students build practical coding skills through structured lessons, online practice, project work, and preparation for recognized certification milestones.

The first Caribbean Code live lesson is planned for July 7 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Students can use the Google Meet link posted at the top of this page and on the Live Lessons page.

The current class is already underway, so students should use the live lesson link at the top of this page when it is time to join online.

What Students Learn

The program starts with Python and PCEP readiness, then supports students through problem-solving practice and project-based evidence of skill.

Certification track

Python + PCEP

A 4-week foundation in Python fundamentals, OpenEDG practice, and readiness for the PCEP exam.

Online coding practice

Problem Solving

Practice ladders that let students solve coding problems directly on the website through beginner, intermediate, hard, and expert categories.

Students turn skills into portfolio projects, demos, and submissions for competitions or certification milestones.

How the Program Works

Python and PCEP track

Students learn Python syntax, control flow, functions, core data structures, and PCEP exam domains through a focused curriculum and OpenEDG-aligned practice expectations.

Coding practice track

Practice ladders help students solve coding problems directly on the website with levels, topics, solved status, and judge-backed code submissions.

Projects and validation

Students build demos, portfolio pieces, and competition-ready work so their progress can be understood beyond the platform.

Live Lessons and Practice

Live online lessons give students a regular learning rhythm, while the website tracks quizzes, coding practice, submissions, and lesson progress.

Live lesson structure

Current plans include three unique lessons per week plus an optional Saturday review and extra practice session. The schedule may be adjusted to better fit students' availability.

Website practice

Students can review curriculum pages, complete quizzes, solve coding problems, and use the online code workspace as they prepare.

Certification Preparation

Caribbean Code is designed around serious preparation, not just attendance.

Attending every live class is strongly recommended, but completing required practice tests and quizzes on the website will be required before receiving a certification exam voucher. Those quizzes and practice tests will be added to the website as the class progresses.
